AppsGeyser has added another fantastic tool for you to use. We are very proud to announce that the RSS feed Android app is now available.
What is RSS Feed
RSS stands for ‘Rich Site Summary’ and it is used for showing updated data from websites or chosen key words. RSS feeds are used in websites that update their data frequently such as; news websites. By making a RSS feed app you can allow your users to get access to updated information instantaneously, without having to update your app with each new update. You can choose to provide updated feeds based upon a chosen website, such as a blog, or from a keyword search. The Keyword search will source information from the whole web based upon your keyword choice.
How to use the RSS feed
You have two options for making a RSS feed app. You may choose to create a feed from a particular webpage such as; your blog, local news site or any other web source, or you can use keywords.
1 – Website link: To make a RSS feed app from a website, you need to copy the RSS feed website link. To get the RSS Feed website link, right click on the RSS sign on the website and choose copy link.
2 – Keyword search: When creating a RSS feed using keywords you need to ensure you use + ,– and quote signs to make the search more specific.
Keyword example for London news: If you want to gather all the latest news from London you should write your keywords like this: “London news” and not London news.
Adding another keyword – If you want to add another aspect to your search, you can add another keyword using the + sign; “London news” + “east London”.
Focusing your search: If you want to reduce the size of your search to a more specific area, for example you want your news search to be for all of London but not west London, then you can use the – sign; “London news – west London”. This search will exclude west London
The best way to create a RSS feed that will cover all your chosen topics is by using the keyword option.
