Being able to view the source code of a web page you are viewing is a valuable developer tool. You may need to use this tool for a wide range of reasons. Most people are already familiar with what viewing a web page’s source is like on their PC.
Viewing a web page source means you can see the original text, HTML tags, and other components of the web page. Generally, it is possible to view the code that makes the page work however, you cannot view a search engine’s source code. What this means is that it is possible to see the source of a web page. But the information and code that is processed on the server end will not appear. Thus, when you request a page’s source code, you only see what makes up the visible components on the page. The server-side scripts and programming codes are still not visible.
Although not very common, it is possible to view the HTML source code of a web page on your Android device. Of course, most people find it easier to do so on PC. Almost every computer browser has an option for this. On your PC browser, you simply have to right-click on the web page you intend to view and select the “View page source” option. Note that different browsers have different names for this option. There is also a keyboard shortcut which also depends on the browser you are using.
So How Do You View a Page’s Source Code On Your Android Device?
The method for viewing a web page’s source code on your device is different from that of a PC. But it is fairly easy too. It involves manually inserting a view source command into the URL of the web page that is displayed in the address bar of your browser. Here are the steps for viewing a page’s source code on your phone or tablet.Step 1: Open your phone browser (Google Chrome is recommended for this although other browsers may work too)
Step 2: Open the web page that you intend to view
Step 3: Once the page is fully loaded, tap on the address bar then move your cursor to the start of the URL.
Step 4: Type the command “view-source:’ and tap EnterFor instance, to view the source code of the Forbes.com home page simply type
For example, to view the code for our homepage, you would type “view-source:https://www.forbes.com”Alternative -Using An Online Tool
If you do not want to use this method, there are several online tools with features that allow you to view the source code of a web page. These tools (such as HTML Viewer and Code Beautify) may also help you find and read the code more easily and may also have features for styling, formatting, or highlighting parts of the code you view. - December 22, 2022 at 9:51 am #90573rachel gomezParticipant
