What is a cloud agent in Android smartphones? well, in simple words cloud agent is an Android software that comes in phones pre-installed or built-in. Cloud Agent in Android is basically a tool or service that uploads your photos automatically to servers such as Dropbox, OneDrive, or any other cloud storage.
Cloud Agent Comes in Which Phones?
The cloud agent is basically a system that is built into certain Samsung phones. The basic function of a cloud agent is to upload photos from your phone’s memory that you took with the camera to your Samsung account if you have created one. Then, these photos are displayed in the gallery. It works similarly to other famous cloud service providers such as Dropbox that upload files as it gets connected to the internet.
Cloud Agent Integration with Dropbox
Cloud agent is also capable of integration with Dropbox to sync images to the device gallery. By enabling “Camera upload” in Dropbox will make two copies of each picture on your smartphone one will be that’s the real picture and the other will be stored in Cloud Agent’s storage.
How to Turn off Cloud Agent in Android?
The cloud agent service can also be turned off and it’s a very easy process if you don’t want to use this service anymore. Just follow the steps to turn off the cloud agent on your phone.
You have to launch the “Settings” app on your phone.
From the “Application Manager” select “Cloud”.
If your device, it rooted you can freeze this Cloud Agent but if you haven’t rooted your phone you can clear it or disable this service in settings. But this would result in not showing Dropbox photos in Gallery. If the Dropbox app is installed, it would be able to sync and automatically upload photos without using the Cloud Agent service. Why Does the “Cloud Agent” is Taking so much space on my phone?
The reason behind Cloud Agent is taking so much space is mostly the settings. Well after doing a small research I came to know the real reason that was causing Cloud agent to occupy most of the space of my phone’s storage. If you have Dropbox installed with “Camera Upload” Turned on in Dropbox settings. There are other two options of Pictures and Video sync, if you have turned on all these options then that’s the real thing that’s causing the problem of cloud agent taking too much space.
You can simply turn off this option by going to the main settings
Then go to the cloud and from there disable the pictures and video options. This will save your space and it won’t save any copy of the data into cloud agent.
Advantages of Cloud Agent
The main advantage of cloud agents is that users will have a backup of their files. There will be two copies of each video, pictures, or pictures that are taken with a mobile camera. In case, if you ever lost any data it will have a copy of the backup. But the problem with cloud agents is that it takes a huge amount of space depending on the size of data that’s stored on your phone.
