What is usage ratio?
You may have heard us talking about your usage ratio when discussing monetization with you, but what does usage ratio really mean? What we are talking about is how much a user uses your app once it has been successfully downloaded. Apps that are downloaded and not used a minimum of three times are not considered viable for our monetization program, but more so, these apps will not make successful apps. GooglePlay rates apps that are not used frequently enough as apps that are not suitable for app users’ needs. GooglePlay believes that apps that aren’t used are apps that have not properly described their use to the app user in that sale process, or that the app has not achieved what the app user expected. It is better to have only 50 downloads with a high usage ratio than have 1000 downloads and a very low usage ratio.
How does social media help engage your users?
There are a number of ways in which your social media campaign can help engage your audience:
Social – Social media is what it says, it is personal interaction, this means your audience are not talking to machines but to real people that represent your brand.
Sharing – Allow your business and audience to share ideas, plans and information. It is always a good idea to ask your audience for their opinion on matters regarding your brand and products/service
Conversation – Don’ t be afraid to ask questions and start debates, this helps to give your audience a voice and interact with you and your brand.
Keep it short – Don’t post things that will take your audience more than a minute to read, many simply won’t bother, keep your contact short and to the point.
Promotion – One mistake many people do is to use their social media as an advertising tool. If you decide to do this you will quickly lose your followers, people are on social to gain information, share information and learn more about your brand and are not interested in being directly sold to.
