Having a mobile app will in turn increase traffic to your current website if you already have an existing site; this is because your mobile app audience will turn to the internet version of your site when they do not have the need to be mobile. But the question remains: how do you increase you app’s visibility?
1: Social Media – Coming in at number one is the use of social media. Social media is a great place to increase brand awareness and encourage audience engagement with your brand. Social media, is what it says, it si social, and this is your chance to get your company’s personal style out to your audience letting them engage with you on a more social level. You must remember to keep your business social profession, but in a more relaxed way, never use your social page to purely advertise your business, this does not fit with this style of marketing. Social media is strictly for engagement with your audience building confidence and personality to your brand.
2: ASO – Yes, we cannot ignore the fact that your app must be optimized for the mobile app store in order to maximise its chances of being found in an organic search. We have looked at this subject in detail in the past and I strongly recommend that you click here to take a look at the in depth review on App Store Optimization.
3: QR codes – There is a lot of love it hate it comments to be made about QR codes, but let us be clear, if used effectively these codes can dramatically increase your app’s download and usage levels. Take a look at McDonalds, they have used QR codes from everything from advertising nutrition levels of their menu to games that they are advertising. Another example you may frequently notice, is the use of QR codes on take away menus. The restaurants are enticing you to make your order via your mobile phone using their app and there is clear data to prove this style of QR code marketing really works.
It might seem obvious to you that once your app has been created that you will need to focus upon marketing in order to get your Android app seen in the market, but this is often overlooked by many. In order to increase your app’s visibility you need to have a plan before you create your app and be willing to follow through on your app business plan to the very last period.
