It was your dream to make a free Android app and to suddenly have your bank account full, but this isn’t happening, your app just doesn’t seem to be making you money, why isn’t your free Android app making money?
It is time to put away those Yacht catalogues, close down all those real estate websites and get back to work on your app because you seem to have missed a trick or two. Don’t worry though, Im here to remind you about the things that you forgot.
Your Free Android app can make you money
So what are the ways to make money?
1: Affiliate ads – This is something we all love to hate and hate to love, affiliate ads are those little banner ads that you see at the top or bottom of your app. You may not have realised it, but in most free apps in the GooglePlay store the apps have banner ads. You don’t believe me, go to GooglePlay and download a free app.
Affiliate ads are an easy way to make money because you don’t have to do anything and what is even better, once your app hits 100 daily downloads for a week with an average user ratio of just 3 your app will be automatically be eligible for the AppsGeyser monetization programme.
2: Download fee – If you already have a brand and reputation you may find that you are able to place a price on your app, just $0.99 is a fair price for an app, it won’t break the bank, but if you are having over 100 downloads a day, that is $100 a day revenue before you add any other form of revenue, not bad really $100 a day, that’s a minimum of $3000 a month just from a minimum amount of downloads. Most successful apps will see a much larger number of daily downloads.
3: Premium app – We aren’t big fans of paying for apps, afterall there is are so many competitors in the market at even $0.99 it’s a hard sell, however, using this premium app approach you are more likely to convince people to pay for your app. This is how it works: You create a basic app that is free to download, in this app is have some of your features, but not all, you can then create a premium app with additional features that users of your free app will want to download. Here you will be focusing upon upgrading your existing audience.
4: Private advertisements – Your app is amazing and so many people get to see your app so why not sell space on the app to other companies. Space on your app is worth a lot of money, it’s a way to get advertisements to a large audience. Take for example your app is about dogs, you can sell advertising space to a local dog trainer, a vet or even a pet store.
5: Sell your app – Not everyone makes an app to keep it, you can create apps and sell them to other businesses. Believe it or not, not everyone realises that apps can be created with a few clicks, you can use this skill and knowledge to your advantage by creating apps for businesses and selling them the rights to the APK.
There you go guys, from now on, no more telling me you can’t make money from your free Android app, I have given you 5 wonderful ways to make money and this list is just a basic list of ways to make money.
